How to use crystal face rollers

Crystal face rollers are the latest and greatest beauty trend that is taking the world by storm. Face rollers provide many great benefits and can greatly improve your complexion and give your skin a real age-defying boost. If you want to try this treatment for yourself then follow our handy guide which will show you how to get the best out of your crystal roller.

Select Your Roller

The first choice you need to make is which type of roller you want to use. There are many different types on the market, and they all provide different benefits. So make sure you select the right one for the task in hand.

GREEN JADE - Your go-to roller for general anti-ageing effects. It has a great cooling effect on tired and inflamed skin.

ROSE QUARTZ - A deep healing crystal that will help to remove toxins and impurities from the skin.

WHITE JADE – This stone has fantastic healing properties and can help soothe the epidermis if used gently.

BLACK OBSIDIAN – Ideal to restore the skin's natural balance.

    Preparation

Before you start, you want to make sure that you have clean, freshly cleansed skin. Follow with a face mist or floral hydrosol and lightly pat the skin until fully absorbed.

At this point, you want to apply your favourite facial oil and gently start massaging with the tip of your fingers.

Your skin is now fully prepared for the crystal facial ritual!

If you want to boost your roller, you can either put it in the fridge for an hour or so before use or run it under warm water to gently heat it. (Though don't put a cold roller under a hot tap, you will crack it!)

    Start Rolling

Now it is time to start working!

You want to start at the forehead and work outwards and/or upwards. This is to help the drainage of your lymph nodes move in one direction.

You want to use slight pressure. Not too hard, but so that you can feel it. Use smooth strokes and complete 5 passes over each area. Then work your way down your face.

Remember that the larger end of the roller is used for large flat areas of the face, and the smaller end to work around the eyes and other more targeted work.

    Things to Note

If your skin starts to turn slightly pink, this is a good sign as it means that blood flow is improving to the area.

Once you have finished rolling remove any excess product from the roller and finish with a last dose of oil or moisturiser to lock hydration and moisture in.
